Payment Options

Making payments is easy with Donegal!
We’re pleased to offer a variety of payment options to meet your unique and ever-changing needs, including:

Automatic Payment Plan

To enroll in automatic payments through your checking/savings account or credit card, simply select "My Account" from the Customer Service drop-down menu. From here, you’ll need to Log In through an existing account, or Register a New Account. Upon log in or registration, you can select a policy and then navigate to Billing → Change Method. From here, you can make changes to your billing, including updating your draft date, creating EFT or RCC payments, or changing your billing method to another subscription/method for that policy.

EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)*

  • Automatically transfers funds from your chosen bank account
  • Offering the lowest installment fee of any payment method, ranging from $2 to $6, dependent on whether it’s a Personal Lines or Commercial policy.
  • Automatic Pay Plan Authorization Form

RCC (Recurring Credit Card)*

  • Automatic funds transfer from a Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard only)
  • Installment fees are equal to those for paper billing, ranging from $8 to $10, dependent on whether it’s a Personal Lines or Commercial Lines policy.
  • Automatic Pay Plan Authorization Form

Other Payment Options

Paper Billing

  • A paper invoice is mailed for every installment
  • Payments must be made manually
  • Installment fees range from $8 to $10, dependent on whether it’s a Personal Lines or Commercial Lines policy


  • Available exclusively on Workers’ Comp policies
  • Pay as you go, based on your actual reported payroll
  • No installment fees!
  • Minimum annual premium of $2,500 to qualify

* Available for all policies in all states!
Note: EFT & RCC, invoices are only sent upon a change to the installment schedule. Set your preferred draft date between the 1st and the 28th of the month.

Payment Plans

  • Full Pay: No installment fees; bills once at each renewal
  • Semi-annual: Available only to policies with a 12-month term; bills every 6 months
  • Quarterly: Bills every 3 months
  • Bi-monthly: Bills every 2 months
  • Monthly: Bills each month

Make a One-Time Payment


Making a one-time payment via your bank account or credit card charge is quick and easy! Simply log in to your account and click on the Payment link from your Policy/Billing Details Page.

Over the phone

Make a credit card payment using our automated system at 800 877-0600 (press 4).

Through the mail

Those who receive paper invoices may mail payments with their invoice stub.

Payment Terms & Conditions

The minimum amount due, as shown on your invoice, is required by the due date indicated on that invoice. A late fee may be assessed on payments received after the due date. A fee will be charged to any payment reversal.

Changes made to your regular billing method will apply only to subsequent invoices. Bills already in progress will remain as-is.

Updates to an active subscription (i.e. credit card expiration date, etc.) may be done at any time, by clicking on the "Update Credit Card" or "Update Bank Account" buttons below the "Change Method" option. Note: updating an existing subscription will apply to any open invoice.

If an invoice has been generated for a policy on automatic payments and you need to request that the automatic payment not be processed, a request must be made 3 or more days before the scheduled draft date. Your current payment dates are shown on the most recent payment schedule mailed to you.

Go Green! Stop receiving paper invoices. To enroll, login and click on "Paperless Settings."
